Back in South Korea, Starbucks coffee in hand, here are the blogs that I want to share this week:
This first blog was one that my co-worker, Bob, emailed me to make sure that I read it. Seven Realities for Perfectionists (hmmmm. Wonder if he was trying to tell me something.) This was written by recovering perfectionist, Matt McMorris on Dan Black’s blog site. He lists the ways that being a perfectionist can limit your leadership abiltity.
Michael Hyatt writes about 5 Characteristics of Weak Leaders (and How Not to Be One)He tells the story of General George B. McClellan, commander of the “Army of the Potomac” and, eventually, first general-in-chief of the Union Army. What made him a weak leader, and why Abraham Lincoln finally had to relieve him of his duties. Hopefully, I get to learn from HIS mistakes.
After learning what not to do, I switch to an article of what TO DO. I am looking at One Leadership Skill That Will Set You Apart. Shelley Prevost suggests that an important Leadership skill that we should all have is being vulnerable. The why and how featured in the article makes for interesting reading.
That’s it for this week. Time to finish the coffee, pack up my things, and tip the barista. If you liked some of these articles, drop me a line, talk to me on Facebook, Twitter, contact me on the blog. Share some of the articles that really spoke to you. See you in a couple days.
